Ready-made orders can be cancelled or modified within 24 hours of placement by emailing hello@margaret-medieval.de. After 24 hours, if the item has been dispatched, the standard return process applies. For commissions, changes may be requested before production begins; once work has started, changes may incur additional charges and extend the lead time.
Yes, for ready-made items in stock we offer exchanges within 14 days of delivery. Please return the item in its original condition and request an exchange in your returns email. If the desired size is unavailable, we will offer a refund or, where production capacity permits, commission a replacement piece to your sizing. For commission pieces, sizing adjustments within a reasonable range (typically ±2cm) are included within the first 60 days after delivery.
Lead times depend on the piece and current workshop capacity. Typical ranges are: chainmail coif or hauberk 4–8 weeks; single plate component (gauntlet, gorget) 6–10 weeks; half armour 12–16 weeks; full harness 18–24 weeks; LARP set 6–10 weeks. We always confirm the exact timeline in your commission quote. Rush commissions may be available for an additional fee — ask us when enquiring.
When your commission is confirmed, we send a detailed measurement guide for the specific piece you've ordered. Typical measurements include chest, waist, hip, shoulder width, upper arm, forearm, neck circumference, and height. We also ask about dominant hand, any injuries or physical considerations, and intended use (display, LARP, or hard fighting). Workshop visit fittings in Nürnberg are welcome and recommended for complex full harness commissions.
Yes — restoration and repair work is a significant part of what we do. We accept restoration commissions for both Margaret-made pieces and armour made elsewhere. Please send clear photographs and a description of the damage to commissions@margaret-medieval.de for an assessment and quote. We cannot assess restoration feasibility or cost without seeing the piece, either in person or via a detailed photo set.
Yes. All transactions are processed over TLS 1.3 encrypted connections. Card payments are handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security certification. We never see or store your full card number; only a tokenised reference is retained to allow refunds where applicable. PayPal transactions are subject to PayPal's own security infrastructure.
Our LARP-rated armour is built with fully rounded and polished edges to prevent snagging or cutting foam weapons, and uses 1.2mm mild steel that provides protection without excessive weight. For hard-contact steel fighting events (HMB, IMCF, Buhurt), we also produce competition-grade armour to international federation specifications including minimum steel thickness, edge treatment, and joint coverage requirements. Please specify your event federation when enquiring so we can advise on the correct specification.
